The IPL points table will be updated for each and every today matches completion. For each T20 IPL cricket match, the winning side will get 2 points, the other team get no points. Along with these IPL points, both the teams will get the net run rate as well based on their runs scored from their respective innings.
After all the league stage IPL T20 cricket matches, the points table will be taken for consideration to pick the list of teams for the qualifier rounds. The top four IPL teams which got more number of points will be given the chances to play the next IPL rounds which is IPL qualifier. If two or more teams are holding the same number of IPL points, then the ranking will be calculated based on the net run rate earned.
The first two IPL teams who scored more number of IPL points will play the IPL Qualifier 1 round, the 3rd and the 4th team will play the IPL qualifier 2 round. The loser of qualifier 1 will play against the winner of qualifier 2, which is called the IPL eliminator round. The winner of qualifier one will qualify directly to the IPL final cricket match. The loser of qualifier 2 and eliminator will be removed from the IPL contest. The winner of Eliminator will face the winner of IPL Qualifier 1 in the IPL final match.
If the match is not played due to bad weather condition or some other reason, the points will be shared for both the IPL teams as 1 and 1. So the IPL points table will have the team details, matches played, number of matches won, lost matches and the net run rate of each IPL team.
